Lead Partner: Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations
Description
This development funding is to ensure the most suitable model is established for a specific Rural Community Action Research Programme in Scotland. SCVO will explore the needs of rural communities in Scotland within the context of the 6 RARP themes identified by the Carnegie Commission.
This proposed programme would combine support to rural groups to undertake action research and also build the capacity of groups. This programme would also be used to inform wider Policy Development relevant to rural communities through both a sub-regional and a Scotland analysis undertaken by SCVO, with implications for the other four nations. For example how to use the Community Plan as a tool for bringing forward consensus, engagement and commitment by citizens in context of Policy such as the Review of Public Administration / Regional Development Strategy.
Throughout the development stage, as themes develop in line with the Carnegie themes, clear linkages will be made to the other four nations to ensure a strategic approach to their action research initiatives under each theme. This will be co-ordinated through the appointed consultants for each theme. A communication model will also be developed as part of any future action research initiatives identified across the themes to ensure ongoing learning at a strategic level across all of the nations and themes. A model framework has been developed to help explain the process of how an action research project will be identified in line with the Carnegie themes and the communication of learning across the themes with the other nations.
The final report will be published on this website and the findings will be incorpoated in to the Commission's final report and the six RARP themes.
