The Big Tent- Scotlands biggest eco-festival, 25th/27th July, Falkland

Big Tent 2009 is Scotland’s biggest eco-festival and takes place on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th July. It is organised and run by Carnegie partners - the Falkland Centre for Stewardship.

creole choirThe Creole Choir of Cuba is the latest addition to the line up of world, folk and fusion. The 14 singers plus drummers and dancers will present ‘desendann, voices of Haiti’ celebrating and preserving the rich legacy of Haitian culture in Cuba. The mighty Shooglenifty, talented Attic Lights, the amazing Chipolatas and Mr McFalls Chamber playing Martyn Bennett are just a taste of the music line-up coming your way this July. There’s also the Treacherous Orchestra, the Nuala Kennedy Band, the Bevvy Sisters, Joe Acheson Quartet, Michael Marra playing with Mr McFalls Chamber, Prince Edward Island and India Alba And that lovely man Phil Kay will be back as the weekend compere. This year’s festival will include loads of new stuff like: the Climate Challenge Ceilidh, a Climate Champion’s Zone, Earth Action Talks with WWF Scotland, a Family Zone, a brand new Wild About Wood Zone, plus the return of the celebrated One Planet Food Village.
